The sacred pause on the threshold of change before soaring into the next chapter of your life.

Symbols and signs are all around us. I choose to pay attention to them as there are many unseen messengers from different dimensions.

This past week, I went to the bank to drop off some paperwork. What should have been a quick in and out, turned into a wait in an unexpectedly long line. I ended up leaving as I had to be elsewhere, and I admit that I was a bit irritated at the situation. The next day, I was waylaid by a train at a crossing where there aren't normally trains especially at that particular time of day. On the way home, I was waylaid by another train. In that moment, I felt that there was some symbolism for me to look at, and that I was being forced to slow down. In true me fashion, I searched up the symbolism and here's what I found:

Waiting in line is a great equalizer - money, status, title - none of that matters. Having to wait in lines, breaks our habit of rushing through life, keeps us in the present moment, and offers us a chance to breathe, observe, and quiet our mind. All things I have been working on. I've also been shifting my mindset about money and current systems that are meant to keep people stuck rather than uplifting them.

Sometimes waiting is an ego test - length of the wait mirrors the value at the end. Things worth building are worth our time to build them right. This certainly applies to me and my husband as we build a life and a business together. Waiting can also be a direct intervention to shift our energy - to find peace in the wait not in the destination. How many times in our lives do we anticipate reaching a goal only to find that it's not how we thought we might feel upon reaching it? Peace is a state we carry within us always not just when we achieve something.

Waiting in any fashion is a symbol of the sacred pause, a time of transition, a test of our patience before the next chapter of our lives, and it forces us to stop moving and surrender to a larger system, something greater than ourselves. The sacred pause signals the threshold of change where we might be leaving our old life behind and have not yet reached a new destination. This is a time of spiritual preparation where we trust that the universe is protecting us from arriving too early by creating a "delay" in which we let go of micro-managing our lives and trust a higher power to guide us on the path.

While at work the next day after the "delays", a client and I witnessed a hawk soaring into the wind. Hawks are a symbol of the bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds bringing good omens, prayers, and reminders that we are watched over and protected. They are a powerful sign to focus, trust our intuition, and rise above confusing situations. Their high vantage point encourages us to step back from small details that demand our attention, and look at a fuller picture of our lives and the projects we may be working on. Hawks have incredible vision and they are a symbol for us to feel with greater clarity, truth, and encourage our ability to see what others miss or what may be avoided or something we are avoiding that needs attention. This powerful bird may appear in our lives at a threshold or turning point, signalling major changes or new beginnings.

When a hawk soars into the wind, it creates lift by leaning into the resistance. Where do we create our own resistance? How can we use this resistance or challenge to elevate ourselves? A hawk does this to save energy, therefore if we align with a higher perspective, can we find the flow in the chaos and let the situation carry us forward?

Flying into the wind indicates a fearlessness, a validation of our inner strength and that we can face fears directly. We have the ability to rise above the drama to find a place of calm and a clear vision.

In the past few months, I have felt like I've been in a holding pattern. New energies have come in. I've needed time to slow down, to process and integrate. I'm fortunate to be in a situation where I can take the time to see my projects through with a clear vision, rather than rushing into things with a false start. I'm on the threshold myself, ready to soar into the wind and trust myself. I believe in the life I am building, and sometimes the calm, clarity, and peace I feel inside is foreign because it hasn't always been my natural state. As I settle in to this new way of being, I am grateful for my mentor, my husband, and friends who understand how to support my process. I am grateful to assist clients through their own process.
